Wix Enter: How to write learning lab workshop

As part of the Enter community, we'll have a half-day workshop for the students.

Since we know there are knowledge gaps during the learning period and also after that (and it is hard to cover it all), we'd like to engage the students to be part of the updating process.

They know best what they didn't know and what might be relevant for future cycles. Also, we'd like to see them adopt a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing during the early stages of their careers.

The workshop will focus on documentation skills by using the GitHub learning lab platform and will be led by the Academy learning team.

Before the workshop, we encourage you to pick a topic (we created a list on Monday of gaps they identified) and make some preps, such as completing a learning lab by yourself.

By the end of this workshop, you, the students, will have completed at least an outline for a learning lab on a chosen topic, and we will set a timeline for finishing those labs.

Prerequisites 

In order to be prepared for the workshop, we want to make sure you know the following:

1. Know how to commit, branch, and pull requests in GitHub - see Introduction to GitHub
2. Read & Write GitHub markdown and YAML files - See Communicating using Markdown & Yaml Tutorial | Learn YAML in 18 mins
3. GitHub assist - ensure you’re in the academy org - see https://www.wixeng.com/onboarding
4. Complete a lab, any lab, as a participant - see example Introduction to Design Thinking

The lab creation process

1. Please upload/create your draft in this Shared Drive folder 

2. Use the following template to help you create the lab in the most convenient way.

3. Create a Path for your draft on GitHub Lab
